The Clean House “The Clean House” is a dark comedy that explores human relationships through its focus on family and their non-committal housekeeper. As the characters obsessed with cleanliness try to keep everything clean, events occur that make not only the physical dirty but also the psychological and emotional landscape of the house. The purpose of this poster is to present the “dirty” aspect of the clean house. One of the major lines in the play is “If the floor is dirty, look at the ceiling. It is always clean.” Because nothing in the house is clean in any sense of the word, the poster uses an upside down house with a dirtied ceiling to represent this idea. An announcement card and ticket accompany the poster. |
